Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in leaves and fruits of plants of the genus Citrus (oranges and the like). This compound is a good preservative and natural, not only used as a sour taste enhancer in foods and soft drinks. In biochemistry, citric acid, known as intermediate compounds in the citric acid cycle, which is important in the metabolism of living creatures, so that is found in almost all living creatures.
