Cefixime is a semisynthetic antibiotic cephalosporin class. Is bakterisid by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. Cefixime is active against gram-positive microorganisms such as Streptococcus sp. Streptococcus pneumoniae and gram-negative microorganisms such as Haemophilus influenza, Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis, Escherichia coli and Proteus sp.
